Corrective Facial Surgery

SCAR MANAGEMENT, LACERATION REPAIR, EAR LOBE REPAIR AND MOLE/BENIGN SKIN LESION EXCISION

Scar Management

Scars on the face from trauma, previous surgery, or acne can significantly impact self confidence and overall well being.

Treatments depend on origin of cause and patient expectations.

  • Conservative management: sunblock, scar massage, silicone sheets, chemical peels
  • Laser treatments: microneedling with radiofrequency, IPL for redness, ablative and nonnablative laser treatments to soften appearance of scars, PRP injections
  • Steroid injections for raised scars
  • Scar revision: Some scars are too raised and thick to be treated with conservative modalities. Dr Cho can surgically remove your old scar and resuture the wound to create the most aesthetically pleasing scar possible using her expert tissue handling and suture techniques.  Using meticulous multi-layered closure,  We cant erase scars but we can certainly improve them and improve confidence when you look into the mirror.

Laceration Repair

As a plastic surgeon, Dr Cho understands wound healing, tissue handling, lines of tension on the face and best suturing techniques to repair lacerations to the face to minimize burden of scarring. Most simple lacerations can be taken care of in the emergency room or urgent care. For more complex wounds that penetrate the deeper surface of the skin, on sensitive areas of the face, crushed, contaminated or there is missing tissue, the expertise of a board certified plastic surgeon is required.  Don’t let just anyone repair lacerations on your face. Leave it up to the experts.

Mole and Benign Skin Lesion Removal

  • Do you have moles or other skin lesions that are unsightly and want them removed?
  • Make sure you get a skin check from a dermatologist first to make sure they are not cancerous.
  • Many people are bothered by noticeable moles. Some can be lasered off but most are surgically removed from the root and need to be meticulously closed with deep and superficial sutures to give the best aesthetic scar.
  • These are in office procedures done with local anesthetia.
  • Minimize scarring by leaving these types of lesions to a board certified plastic surgeon.

Ear Lobe Repair

  • Patients seek out a plastic surgeon for ear lobe repairs for various reasons to restore the shape of the earlobe or wanting to wear earrings again
  • Asymmetric ear piercing as a child
  • Elongated ear piercing hole
  • Traumatic tear of ear piercing hole
  • Deformity from a poorly placed face/neck lift scar
  • Simple procedure that can be done in the office under local anesthetia
  • Sutures for one week
  • Painful and easy recovery
  • Need to wait at least 3 months before repiercing
